We are looking to hire a Process Development Manager to drive the development and execution of the product management process within the Customer Office at GSUSA. The Customer Office is a department that supports the development and strategies for the Councils + the Parent + the Volunteer + the Girl. This role will be responsible for building the necessary structure, processes and ways of work for the approach to be effectively sustained for this department. This leader will work with other business units in the organization (IT, Marketing, Merchandise, etc.) and local Girl Scout councils to ensure that all resources and contingencies are considered when planning and adopting projects. As the PMP approach is adopted more widely, this individual will ensure we achieve healthy scaling and adoption of effective business practices throughout our network of 112 councils. You Are:

  • A project manager, excellent at you utilizing agile methodologies to drive successful project completion.
  • Influencer, excel at managing stakeholder expectations while achieving deliverables.
  • Data-driven, lead with a results-oriented approach with the ability to bridge the gap between business and technical stakeholders.

You Will

  • Drive the development of key Girl Scouts’ products, providing oversight through: concept, business case, approval, development, testing, launch and evaluation.
  • Motivate, lead, and manage cross-functional teams (product owners, subject matter experts, user experience and IT developers, etc.) to provide quality support and deliverables to councils and customers; ensuring team members are accountable for their components and work efficiently and effectively to achieve individual and team goals
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project timelines and project management tracking tools that provide clear insight for all stakeholders on cross-functional deliverables.
  • Manage integrated budget tracking for projects that draw from multiple budgets
  • Identify gaps between the desired roadmap and the realizable roadmap and generate options for moving forward and manage the process to evaluate tradeoff of options and decide on which option will best bridge these gaps
  • Identify key listening points in the customer experience for feedback and insights and collaborate with research and evaluation teammate for execution of formal and informal survey strategies
  • Have adjustment and contingency plans in place as needed to minimize disruption and costs of unplanned events that impact development
  • Serve as in internal and external (to local councils) champion for the changes linked to new products, always providing clear and consistent communication on (a) the agreed to business case for the product and how it aligns with our overall strategy, (b) our process transparency and inclusion, (c) the expected costs and benefits for the product, and (d) our reporting cadence for all to access our progress reports
  • Present PMP updates to senior management on key performance indicators and project milestone progress

You Need

  • 5+ years’ experience in project/product management roles in a networked/matrixed work environment.
  • Demonstrated success as a deadline focused, detail oriented, well organized and self-motivated along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and manage time efficiently.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of a Project Management tool (i.e. Microsoft Project or equivalent).
  • PMP certification or equivalent experience is preferred (completed or in progress).
  • Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred or equivalent work/educational experience.
  • Outstanding written/verbal communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills, including the ability to distill complex project narratives into critical updates and succinctly and effectively present to the executive team of the organization and partner councils Supervisory/management experience with a highly transparent management style
  • Strong understanding of the product and SDLC lifecycle; experience with Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Demonstrated project management skills developing strategic plans and driving them through to execution.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing, building and maintaining partnerships and relationships in a consulting role.
