Based in Manhattan and reporting to the Vice President, Brand Marketing of the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), the Senior Manager, Brand Marketing (Retail and Licensing) is responsible for building marketing strategies that advance the Girl Scouts brand. This role will be responsible for delivering constituent engagement with the Girls Scouts’ mission. Join us on our exciting journey to make a significant difference for our parents, volunteers, councils, and most importantly, our girls.

 

You Are

  • A highly experienced brand steward that can harness consumer and cultural insights to promote a compelling narrative.
  • Creative and innovative, with an understanding of brands and tools that drive engagement and loyalty.
  • Adept at working in a fast-paced environment and juggle many responsibilities (supervising vendors and agencies) and projects at once, to deadlines and budgets with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible, adaptable and highly collaborative.

You Will

  • Drive deployment and optimization of Girl Scout marketing plans, creative strategy development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Serve as the primary source for strategic input throughout product development and the approval of marketing and communication plans submitted by national, regional and product sales licensees.
  • Cultivate consumer insights, including qualitative and quantitative research projects, analyzing post research reports and providing recommendations for next steps.
  • Develop working relationships with the internal Marketing/Communications team and external agencies to implement project plans and timelines for promotion of Girl Scout Merchandise, including Girl Scout Cookies, to reach general market and targeted cultural audiences. This includes brief creation and oversight throughout every step of the process.
  • Implement marketing tactics for day-to-day brand and marketing functions.
  • Ensure that events and programs are consistently on-brand and drive toward audience engagement.

You Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related area from an accredited university or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong problem solving skills with clear ability to use data & analytics to deploy brand marketing strategies and deliver against KPIs (product sales, consumer adoption, etc.).
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a brand management, advertising, retail promotion/merchandise, licensing or sponsorship management or similar experience; consumer packaged goods or new product development (including, concept, product and packaging design and market launch) experience a plus.
  • Strong problem solving skills with clear ability to use data & analytics to deploy brand marketing strategies and deliver against KPIs (product sales, consumer adoption, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with persuasive presentation skills and comfort selling across to peer stakeholders.
