About Us

The Girl Scout Retail Experience Administrator for the Flagship retail store in New York City is expected to be extremely knowledgeable about Girl Scout program and mission for all age levels in order to provide excellent customer care to girls, leaders and visitors to the brand new Girl Scout store.

 

This person is an ambassador of the Girl Scout movement and is required to be knowledgeable about all facets of Girl Scouts and the program. This role will be the store liaison between volunteers/customers and our teams at GSUSA including Girl Experience, Information and Referral, Membership, Marketing and Girl Scout Merchandise. The role will also be involved in event planning and execution that will attract customers/members to the space and for return visits.

 

You Will

  • Be the lead liaison for customer inquiries about Girl Scouting and will ensure that if questions are not answered on site, communication is directed to the correct team members at GSUSA and will follow up that customers gets responses.
  • Proficient on GSUSA digital Volunteer Tool Kit (VTK). Incumbent will meet regularly with VTK team to understand the tool in order to work with volunteers/leaders and have ability to guide them as needed when in the Flagship store space.
  • Serve as the liaison between the Flagship store and our Tri-State council advisory team which is made up of council management staff and troop leaders from surrounding councils to share ideas and get input on use of the space for learning and experiences as well as merchandise and event direction.
  • Manages a store event schedule that includes GSUSA, council or troop events and coordinates all facets of these events using available resources
  • Will work with GSUSA Teams to keep current on all relevant information, initiatives and new program releases from Girl Scouts.
  • In partnership with store management, ensure that information is shared with store staff and will serve as the lead trainer for staff in the HQ store on subjects related to new program rollout and related merchandise releases.
  • Be well informed of the Girl Scout customer mapping strategy for girls, parents, volunteers and leaders and incorporate the findings into experiences that our members would have in the Flagship store space.
  • Utilize customer feedback to report back to the team comments and suggestions from our customers that will help drive future strategy.
  • Be involved in general store operations, customer service and merchandising functions as needed.

You Need

  •  2-3 years combined experience related to retail, customer service, event planning/coordination and management.
  • Demonstrated outstanding customer service skills
  • To be solution oriented and a great problem solver
  • Strong computer skills including previous experience work with a CRM is plus and Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically word, outlook, PowerPoint and excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Must have the flexibility to work early morning and evening as well as occasional availability for weekends and overtime as needed. (Store is open daily and hours are subject to change.)
  • This is a full-time position.
