About Us

Girl Scouts of the USA is seeking to hire a Senior Visual and Retail Marketing Specialist to join our Girl Scout Merchandising (GSM) team develop and execute visual merchandising design concepts, solutions and implementation plans for products and programs for Girl Scout retail stores across at the country AND for our brand new Flagship Store.



This person will develop and execute visual merchandising strategies, tactics, processes and standards that align with the GSUSA corporate brand and sales goals in addition to designing merchandise visuals to maximize sales. Additional responsibilities include planning, creating and developing consistent merchandise presentation direction and communication to our council partners.

You Will

  • Partner with internal functional teams to develop and implement visual strategies, fixture requirements, signage, product merchandising and overall s store visual presentation for the Flagship Store.
  • Provides merchandising and marketing tools to council stores that are in line with GSM Business Strategy, product assortment and sales plans to assist stores in increasing their retail business.
  • Plan signage, visual merchandising, themes, highlights, promotional details and retail sales opportunities by month. Work with Senior Manager, Advertising and Ecommerce and other Girl Scout Merchandise staff on all stages of development.
  • Review and provide input into GSM online marketing campaigns and share information regarding store events and promotions.
  • This position is also responsible working with GSUSA Advertising, Ecommerce and Sales in producing quarterly marketing booklet.
  • Design merchandise visuals and signage to maximize sales in accordance with GSM merchandise focus. Communicate visual strategy to councils ensuring consistency between Headquarters store and council stores as appropriate.
  • Maintains and updates the Retail Experience website. This website is a central hub for the 112 councils find GSM marketing, promotional and visual tools to help them align with the GSM Strategic objectives and business strategies. In addition to partnering with the 112 councils in providing visual merchandising guidance. This includes but is not limited to:
    • GSLE wall planograms to support the Girl Scout program
    • Store remolding or new store openings.
    • Prepares for and participates in GSM webinars, National Retail Conference and National Council Sessions.
    • Works closely with the GSM Council Business Consultants and GSUSA sales and marketing staff in developing marketing tools for council stores.
    • Offers advice and recommendation on planning store renovations, fixtures and space planning to coordinate the remolding and new branch store openings at Girl Scout Council store locations as requested.
  • The Retail Experience Website is updated on an ongoing basis including but not limited to: opportunity grid, council dashboard report, GSM product sales tool and price update list, product images, flyers, brochures and catalogs, quarterly marketing booklet and signage, ecommerce news, updates, council best practices including store photos of events, merchandising planning tools, and other pertinent information.
  • In consultation with GSM/GSUSA partners provide plan-o-grams for store interpretation and execution.
  • Partner with GSM Retail Business Consultants to identify and share council marketing/promotion best practices with all Girl Scout Councils through the Retail Experience website. Ensure that marketing needs of the council are met.
  • GSM Team/Council Advisory Meetings, Quarterly Marketing Meetings. Plan and deliver presentation for National Retail Conference and other related webinars. Join in all related webinars from GUSA departments: GSM/Ecommerce. Girl Experience, Product Sales, Membership recruitment, Marcomm, GSUSA Brand Center. Share relevant information from webinars and determine how information is incorporated into GSM quarterly marketing planning.

You Need

  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in retail store management. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in merchandising and visual display concepts. 
  • Experience with planogram software. 
  • A bachelor’s degree in merchandising or related field or equivalent relevant experience.


Addition Key Qualifications:

  • You are self-motivated with excellent time management skills and capacity to work with limited supervision. Ability to identify priorities and meet deadlines.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have superior computer skills in: Office 365, Skype for Business, Word, Excel, Adobe Pro, Photoshop, WordPress 
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. but occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. 
  • Some travel, approximately 10%, is anticipated with some overnight stays, but the ability to deliver a national visual strategy without physically visiting our 300+ stores is essential.
