    GSUSA is seeking a nonprofit leader with expertise in seamless fundraising operations to advance the mission of the organization through increased investments in girls and Girl Scouts. S/he assures excellence in operational and financial planning and performance; facilitates cross-team strategy integration, inspires staff alignment in the mission and culture across the Fund Development community.


    The Director, Fundraising Operations will work on reducing the department’s operating costs and improving efficiency. S/he manages and implements centralized fundraising functions, including operations, finances and budgets, gift processing and acknowledgements, administrative services, data systems, and prospect research for Girl Scouts of the USA.

    In partnership with IT and the Chief Fund Development Officer, the ideal candidate will oversee the transition of the donor database from Raiser’s Edge to Salesforce. This individual will work closely with the CFDO and oversee all financial management and reporting including annual budget preparation and development for all fundraising channels. This individual will collaborate with the finance team and with oversight from CFDO, prepare fundraising, analytical, and financial data and reports for all development initiatives.

    You Will


    • Provide quality control mechanisms to ensure accuracy across the system, serving as the system’s liaison with the IT Department, maintaining relationships with outside vendors and consultants related to databases.
    • Serve as the fundraising liaison with the Finance department and auditors, or any other financial entities working with the fundraising staff and Boards.
    • Develop and implement system-wide standards and methods for data entry.
    • Serve as the fundraising liaison with the Finance department and auditors, any other financial entities working with the fundraising staff and Boards.
    • Evaluates ROI for specific fundraising initiatives, track performances, and measures success.
    • Handle day to day business requirements, including tracking departmental expenses and reviewing purchase orders.
    • Create and implement system-wide processes for gift entry, accounting, receipting, and acknowledgements. Provide quality control mechanisms to ensure accuracy across the system.
    • Oversee prospect research and management including processes for the identification, research, tracking, assessment, cultivation, and stewarding of individual, corporate, and foundation prospects and donors, and communications.
    • Manage the Operations Analyst who maintains dashboard reporting using the database to enable accurate data, appropriate strategies, and data analytics. Also manage the Research Specialist and two Operations Coordinators.
    • Partner with IT to explore new technologies and methods of donor identification, screening, and research.
    • Direct fundraising operations such as supervising management systems and staff that support the day-to-day operations in the areas of finance and accounting, donor and prospect research and management.
    • Oversee the execution of the strategies, policies and protocol of the team’s comprehensive investor cultivation, recognition and stewardship program.
    • Partner effectively with other internal and external stakeholders.
    • Oversee execution of communications and marketing to donors, working closely with colleagues in Fund Development, External Affairs and across GSUSA and the Movement.
    • Provide risk management assessment to fundraising operations.

    You Need

    • 5 – 7 years’ experience.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. Graduate degree preferred.
    • Experience in change management.
    • A strong understanding of federated systems and fundraising.
    • Strategic management experience within fundraising/ supporter care/ communications.
    • Experience in management and development of staff.
    • Experience of working at a senior level.
    • Experience with fundraising databases, systems and procedures.
    • Exceptional project management skills.


    * This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    * Occasional domestic travel - 10%
