About Us

The Senior Data Analyst is a key member of the Information and Technology Data group. Reporting to the VP, Enterprise Data and Reporting. This role is charged with turning data into insight through analysis and reporting, and enabling future growth of the movement by contributing to the implementation of a world class and innovative enterprise data management capability to meet the organization’s strategic business goals.  

 

The Senior Data Analyst is able to work independently and interact effectively with colleagues at all levels, including executive and analyst levels, and will have experience working with data analytics and visualization.

You Will

  1. Establish movement-wide Master Data Health dashboards, dynamically reporting on established key data quality metrics and KPIs. Develop, expand and further refine criteria to drive higher levels of data quality success across the movement. 
  2. Transform raw data into meaningful and impactful analysis that influences business strategy, establishing core metrics and KPIs to evaluate success. Develop and deliver enterprise self-service reporting, including dashboards and data visualizations, to deliver insight across the organization. 
  3. Establish a meta-data repository, documenting key data assets’ definitions, associated business rules, data quality requirements, and supporting the creation of a movement-wide data bible. Contribute to enhancing processes so that complex problems can be solved effectively while continuing to be sustainable and scalable.
  4. Promote the adoption of data management best practices and a data-driven decision-making culture both at GSUSA and across the movement. Develop strong working relationships with council thought partners, and participate in the development of shared best practices.
  5. Help to define and develop new sources of data for the movement, including participating in the development of key technology projects (such as the development and implementation of Communities, VTK, digital customer experiences, social media listening tools, etc.) with an eye towards generating and capturing new data for enterprise analysis and reporting.
  6. Participate in enterprise data projects to optimize the discovery, integration and use of data across the organization.

You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Database Management or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of non-profit experience
  • 5+ years of experience in an analytically driven role
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and SQL/similar query tools.
  • Advanced proficiency with data visualization using BI tools such as Tableau, Qlickview, etc.
  • Conceptual thinker with strong analytic and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate insights verbally, visually, and in writing.
  • Proactive self-starter and team player with high attention to detail and strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to pick and master new technology quickly and with minimal assistance.
