    USA Girl Scouts Overseas (USAGSO) brings the Girl Scout Experience to the daughters of military, Foreign Service and American expats in over 90 countries around the world and to all girls in American or International schools. Staff teams are located in New York, Italy, and Japan.



    The Senior Fund Development and Partnerships Manager is a key leadership position on the USAGSO team that is responsible for developing and executing a multi-faceted fund development strategy; cultivating donor relations; establishing strategic partnerships to leverage program, volunteer, and fund development opportunities overseas; and managing the Fund Development and Partnership Team. This role works cross-functionally to support the Girl Scout mission and USAGSO’s goals and strategic priorities.

    • A senior manager, experienced in managing a membership driven/volunteer related organization.
    • Experienced in staff management including managing virtual teams.
    • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and are prepared to travel overseas as necessary.
    • You’re an innovative thinker that is solution oriented and makes decisions based off of data and embraces technology.
    • Astute at fostering relationships with the Military community.

    You Will

    • Work collaboratively with the fund development and partnerships team at GSUSA’s National Office. Ensures the team complies with and supports the GSUSA philosophy and USAGSO policies, procedures, standards and business practices. Provide clear and consistent accountabilities and direction to the team, ensuring that ongoing coaching, feedback and staff development are managed, resulting in a high functioning, highly engaged team.
    • Develop and execute USAGSO’s fund development strategy with a goal of diversifying and increasing revenue streams to including: individual gifts, planned gifts, corporate/foundation gifts, etc.
    • Oversee USAGSO’s Cookie Program seeking opportunities to expand and grow the program. Research and measure viability and risk associated with opportunities to expand the cookie program.
    • Utilize reporting and analysis to assess measure individual and team progress toward goals.
    • Cultivate a portfolio of high net worth individuals to achieve individual fundraising targets in addition to being responsible for the team goal.
    • Leads USAGSO’s Alumnae Engagement Initiative to identify, cultivate and engage USA Girl Scouts Overseas alums worldwide and build the pipeline of individual donors.
    • Oversee the identification, qualification, cultivation, and stewardship of individuals with the capability of giving major gifts through research and identification of prospects from a variety of internal and external sources.
    • Build strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders including the U.S. military (USEUCOM), American Diplomatic community, alumnae, corporate and community partners. Establishes new partnerships to increase revenue and expand program opportunities for girls around the world.
    • Serves as USAGSO’s liaison with the U.S. military Europe (USEUCOM). Maintains all required documentation and submits regular progress reports to ensure compliance and continued funding.  Encourages team involvement in base activities.
    • Develops and manages department budgets and corresponding resource allocations.

    You Need

    • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience (experience working with Girl Scouts is a plus); 5+ years in a management level position
    • Experience managing/working with a virtual team preferred
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Public Administration, or related field or equivalent relevant experience
    • Fund development experience, staff management and international experience are essential.
    • Technical computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Razor’s Edge, and social networking.

    • Project Management - formulates short- and long-term project goals, objectives, schedules, and priorities in line with council goals; anticipates issues, obstacles, or opportunities that may impact plans or actions; ability to coordinate multiple projects while managing conflicting priorities and deadlines; establishes courses of action for accomplishing goals while attending to and incorporating information obtained during day-to-day administrative tasks
    • Judgment and Decision-Making - recognizes when immediate action is required; recognizes when sufficient information has been obtained to make a decision; makes decisions where appropriate or refers decisions to the appropriate organizational level; makes decisions without undue delay

    • Staff Management - delivers results by maximizing organizational effectiveness and sustainability; ensures people have the support and tools they need and that the assigned  workforce has the capacity and diversity to meet current and longer-term organizational objectives; aligns people, work, and systems with the business strategy to harmonize how they work and what they do; conscientiously assigns performance goals, offers year-round performance feedback, and conducts timely performance discussions and reviews.   
    • Developing Others - delegates responsibility and works with and coaches others to develop their capabilities; provides helpful, behaviorally specific feedback to others; shares information, advice, and suggestions to help others to be more successful; provides effective coaching.


    Additional Important Details:


    • Prior International experience is required – living or working outside of the U.S
    • Familiarity working in a military setting highly desired
    • Demonstrated hands-on experience in project management regarding volunteer management, development and implementation of membership recruitment and retention strategies
    • Strong platform skills to deliver presentations and training sessions.
    • Demonstrated ability to work remotely with minimal supervision as well as work in a collaborative team environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communications; excellent interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to travel-up to 25% of time
    • S. Driver License required. International military driver’s license required (may be obtained after arrival).
    • Valid passport required
