    The STEM Program Manager will lead the development of new badges and the programmatic aspects of a STEM event that will be held at 10 councils in fall 2019. This includes leading the creation of new content (badge meeting plans, badge booklets, event program activities, and event playbook) and partnering with councils to create an excellent event experience for girls.


    You Are:

    • A strong collaborator who can initiate and cultivate excellent working relationships with external content partners, cross-functional colleagues, Girl Scout councils and volunteers
    • An effective and detail-oriented projects manager, with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, especially in terms of events
    • An excellent conceptual thinker and editor who can take a lead role in shaping content for both girls and volunteers.
    • Passionate about girls’ issues and informal education, with strong youth experience.

    You Will

    • Collaborate with external STEM experts to curate or create existing activities and volunteer resources; communicate pilot feedback; and replace activities as needed.
    • Engage and guide freelance writers, which includes managing the contract process, communicating deliverables, and giving editorial direction from first drafts through final revisions.
    • Develop and maintain a deep expertise in STEM informal education.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    You Need

    • 6 – 8 years of experience working with a non-profit, educational organization (formal or informal), or STEM-focused company. Background in youth preferred.
    • Understanding and strong interest in girl issues and STEM education.
    • Demonstrated experience developing excellent editorial products.
    • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with internal/external partners.
    • Proven experience in organizing multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines and working independently with attention to detail.
    • Proven experience managing events.
    • Travel up to 5%.
    • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Solid skiils in Microsoft Office Suite; prior experience with other business-related software a plus.
    • Solid knowledge of business technologies such as Skype and webinars.
    • BA/BS required, degree in education or STEM preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
    • This is a grant-funded position through January 2020, funded by Raytheon and Palo Alto Networks.
