    The Girl Scouts Overseas team is seeking to hire a Member Experience Manager in Italy responsible for supporting and retaining adult volunteers and girl members in assigned areas by providing mentoring, developing and delivering resources, and developing and maintaining programs to assist volunteers in their work with girls. The manager works collaboratively with members of the Mission Delivery Team as well as cross-functionally with other departments of USAGSO to ensure achievement of the goals of USAGSO.


    USA Girl Scouts Overseas (USAGSO) brings the Girl Scout Experience to the daughters of military, Foreign Service and American expats in over 90 countries around the world and to all girls in American or International schools. Staff teams are located in New York, Italy, and Japan.

    You Will

    Program Grade Level Support

    • Mentor adult volunteers to work with girls in assigned program-grade level area (K-3, 4-5, 6-12) to ensure delivery of programs and services to girls.
    • Interpret the Girl Scout Leadership Experience philosophy and the USAGSO policies, procedures and standards.
    • Support the development and implementation of programs in the areas of Outdoor, Life skills, Entrepreneur, STEM, and Global experiences.
    • Work with cross-functional team to determine or develop innovative strategies to ensure the effective support of troop leaders and program-grade levels within the Overseas Committees.
    • Monitor and provides support for problem solving and conflict resolution in a timely manner.
    • Cultivate relationships with appropriate Overseas Committees, community leaders, organizations, and businesses to support retention and recruitment efforts.
    • Optimize use of technology to support customer service for volunteers.
    • Plan for and ensures continuity of the program within a highly mobile population.


    Program Delivery/Resource Development

    • Assist in achieving the council’s membership and retention goals for girls by development, coordination and delivery of quality events, curricula, and additional resources as driven by market needs.
    • Develops and maintains program partnerships and collaborations.
    • Recruit, train and manage volunteers for the effective delivery of program.
    • Ensure Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity to members of the council.

    You Need

    • A Customer-Service mindset
    • Conflict management skills – ability to anticipate, prevent, and resolve conflicts while maintaining productive working relationships (for example, with volunteers, membership, or coworkers); distinguishes between disruptive conflict and constructive differences; identifies common interests to resolve differences
    • Excellent written and verbal communications, as well as interpersonal skills
    • Technical computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook, customer relationship management systems, and social networking.
    • Volunteer relations and volunteer management skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work remotely with minimal supervision as well as work collaborative with a team.
    • Prior international experience is required – living or working outside of the United States
    • Bachelor’s Degree plus 5+years of experience, or equivalent experience
    • Familiarity working in a military setting highly desirable
    • Girl Scout experience is desirable.
    • SalesForce experience highly desirable


    Important Details:

    • US Driver’s License is required. International driver’s license required.
    • Valid passport required
    • **Orientation will be in New York for the first week
    • ***A three-year commitment is required and may be extended for an additional two years (totaling 5 years of employment)
