    We are seeking to hire a Council Convening & Engagement Manager to provide expertise for council partner engagement through strategic convenings and leader engagement on Movement teams that guide initiative development and implementation. 

     

    The Manager shapes the goals and content of convenings and development the project plans for each convening assuring that the plans are met. This requires relationship management and influence of GSUSA partners and council leaders that are the content deliverers for convenings.

    You Will

    • Oversee customer office convening strategy and meeting cycle. This includes the cycle of meetings as well as leader calls.
    • Lead execution of council leadership meetings. (E.g. Leadership Summit, BC-CEO Conference). This requires diligent project planning and dedicated support of planning teams, GSUSA content partners and council content partners.  Additionally drives logistical excellence working in conjunction with National meetings.
    • Direct the council leadership communication convenings for the customer office (e.g. CEO calls, BC calls, COO calls, etc.). Works in conjunction with the VP and the Communications team on the story arc, deck preparation and meeting execution on these major calls. Handles follow-up evaluations.
    • Prepare and drive approaches or proposals that go to executive level for input and approvals.
    • Foster process for cohort development drawing learnings from these opportunities.
    • Serve as the Customer Office liaison to triennial national council session and convention.

    You Need

    • Operations management or other relevant experience in non-profit/for-profit sector.
    • Significant experience as a Girl Scout Council executive required.
    • A Bachelor’s degree.
    • Proven track record of engaging, garnering support and buy-in from customers, colleagues and staff.
    • Basic knowledge of adult learning or techniques for meeting planning that fosters adult engagement and learning.
    • Ability to develop strong relationships based upon trust, respect, effective communication and achievement of common goals.
    • Demonstrated leadership in planning and overseeing large scale initiatives and projects.
    • Appreciation for diverse perspectives and challenges. 

    *Please note that this position will be based in NYC, but we are open to candidates that may not reside in the NYC area if you have appropriate, related, strong, Girl Scount Council leadership experience and willingness to travel to NYC as necessary.
