    Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is seeking a Vice President, Creative Director to serve as a new, critical member of the Marketing organization reporting to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.  The Director will oversee the creative process, managing internal design and video/photo teams and agency partners, and will draw on the latest industry trends in design, advertising, content platforms and marketing to drive storytelling innovation for the Girl Scouts Brand. As a senior member of the Marketing team, the candidate must be a motivational leader who works collaboratively across teams to develop and articulate a forward vision and deliver compelling creative that draws in new audiences and engages current members of the Girl Scout Movement.

    You Will

    • Manage two creative teams: Design (6 FTE plus contractors) and Video/Production (4 FTE) in the production of all marketing content and collateral - video, digital and print assets used across GSUSA and 112 councils to drive membership and revenue. Make critical assessments and decisions on copy, design, video production, etc. and inspire and support teams to deliver their best work.
    • Lead the creative vision for the Movement –GSUSA and 112 local councils- championing integration and adoption of the brand platform, while developing fresh approaches to differentiate brand messages, advertising and campaigns in a highly competitive and cluttered marketplace.
    • Serve as a thought partner to the CMO and team leads, bringing forth new format/platform and partnership ideas based on emerging research, advertising and cultural trends.
    • Develop powerful and compelling ways to showcase the creative work, and gain excitement and support from Nat’l board, executive leadership, councils and internal stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and departments including Fund Development, licensing/retail, Alum, Talent Rewards, Girl and Volunteer Experience.
    • Align with the content team on strategies for elevating girls voices and the Girl Scout story.
    • Lead and/or actively participate as a subject matter expert, in competitive strategy and new business development sessions to combat marketplace threats and drive new revenue and brand opportunities.
    • Deliver team work on time and on budget.

    You Need

    • Minimum 8-10 years of demonstrated experience and success serving as a creative director for highly compelling and iconic brands, with a p preference for experience engaging women, family and/or youth targeted audiences.
    • Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills, with a strong command of design, copy and video and demonstrated ability to develop and communicate a distinct creative vision.
    • Experience managing creative teams, full time and contractor designers, producers, video storytellers and photo managers, with varying levels of skills, in an agency and/or marketing driven organization–– Committed to developing team talent to their full potential.
    • Proven experience in developing and enforcing creative standards with internal and external stakeholders that cross a wide array of digital and traditional channels
    • Knows what works on what channel and keeps an eye on data, emerging digital trends/new channels to identify opportunities.
    • Proven experience managing people, budgets, schedules and vendors/partners to meet goals on time and within costs.
    • Exemplary written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment
    • Aligned with the Girl Scouts mission and initiatives fostering girls’ leadership development.
    • Substantial experience working across a range of media and channels – particularly video
    • Demonstrated experience in a variety of software and creative platforms – Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, etc.
