    The Senior Director, Alum  will manage and direct the Alum initiative and team with specific focus on creating, rolling out and managing the Girl Scouts Talent Pipeline, a ground-breaking initiative for Girl Scouts Alum to fill workforce skills gaps, including alum interns and mentors.


    This role will partnering directly with our CEO, corporate partnerships, university advocates and related organizations, this role will support the mission of Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) by elevating and connecting the value of Girl Scouts experience and leadership in a first-of-a-kind rubric translating Girl Scouts curriculum into industry skills.

    You Will

     Elevate the value of Girl Scouts for near and long-term talent pipeline needs to corporate partners.

    •  Create and produce relevant public relations (PR) collateral and presentations utilizing GSUSA data for translation of skills gained from Girl Scouts curriculum into industry skills.


    Translate Girl Scouts curriculum into higher education academic credits.

    •  Partner with our CEO and other GSUSA leadership to build relationships with higher educational institutions in order to translate our Girl Scouts curriculum into academic credits. 


    Identify and develop relationships with corporations and educational institutions to create pilot, implement national roll out and manage continued evolution of the Girl Scouts Talent Pipeline Initiative.

    • Drive identification and cultivation of relationships with institutes of higher education for partnership opportunities.
    • Develop, promote and foster processes and initiatives to match graduating girls with business partners for internships, mentoring and career opportunities.
    • Partner with businesses and higher education organizations to identify, document and use workforce skills gaps in order to develop new or enhance existing programs for Girl Scouts to support emerging needs, with high focus on our Girl Scouts four program pillars: STEM, Outdoor, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship.
    • Educate businesses, educational institutions and organizations on the benefits of hiring/admitting/engaging Girl Scout Alum
    • Lead creation of talent pipeline pilots and national roll outs working with alum project management and Change Management team. 

    Identify and activate alum to engage with talent pipeline initiatives

    • Develop and manage communication vehicles to connect alum with prospective employers for internships and career opportunities.
    • Develop, pilot and implement an alum mentoring vehicles for interns at the corporate partners.
    • Partner with Girl & Family Engagement Office to create older girl curriculum for career/professional preparation and create broadcast vehicles, maximizing use of existing processes and partnerships.

    You Need

    • Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA or equivalent graduate work in related field preferred
    • 10+ years’ experience in higher education, strategy, management consulting, program, product or project management
    • Demonstrated multi-channel marketing experience connected to launching new initiatives, especially social media
    • Girl Scout alum is a requirement; Gold Award Girl Scout, a plus
    • Prior non-profit experience, especially in a federated model is preferred
    • Deep experience working with universities and corporate partners to foster talent pipeline initiatives including piloting initiatives, and related public relations activities.
    • Girl Scout Council knowledge, specifically expertise in council operations
    • 7 – 10 years project management with contingency planning experience
    • Excellent PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite – Word/Excel/PowerPoint and SharePoint or similar collaboration tool
    • Demonstrated financial experience in developing and managing departmental budget.
    • Ability to influence others and move stakeholders toward a common vision or goal
    • Ability to identify problems at an early stage and solve them effectively and holistically
    • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of stakeholders using multiple communication strategies
    • Experience in writing content for and assembling and delivering executive-level written and in-person presentations,
    • Proven relationship building skills that will foster collaboration and the establishment of strong working relationships with business leaders and partners, team members, councils, and other departments
    • Proven ability to reach and effectively communicate with all levels of organization, including senior executives of large corporate partner organizations, mid-level staff at councils, and volunteers
    • Experience with creating and implementing proven, successful demand creation, lead nurturing, and pipeline acceleration programs
    • Excellent understanding and quick learner of technology, including social media, digital marketing and advertisement
    • Strong deployment planning experience with creative ability to envision new and innovative Go-to-Market approaches
    • Ability to design and create learning, training and communications tools, in multiple media formats, that is clear, impactful, and engaging
    • Ability to clearly express the value proposition and business case for council adoption
    • Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders and improving commercial performance
    • Data driven and results oriented
    • Ability to synthesize information and make recommendations on various paths forward
    • Negotiation skills/experience
    • Ability to navigate ambiguity while implementing change
    • Demonstrated problem-solving leadership with limited oversight
    • Demonstrated track record of achieving product growth objectives and delivering products within budget and specified timeframe.
