    The Revenue Office/Girl Scout Merchandise leads merchandising, licensing, product sales, and other revenue streams, which in turn fund both Girl Scouts of the USA programming and administration and local council revenue. The teams at this division include e-commerce, operations, retail, licensing, and the famous Girl Scout Cookie Program and work closely with all the other communities to bring products to market for our Girl Scouts and to the general public. The team also collaborates closely with external vendors, sponsors, and external agencies.


    The Merchandise Assistant is responsible for supporting the Merchandising Team with clerical tasks and data entry relating to product development and merchandising for the Girl Scout wholesale and retail business.  The MA will also support the Senior Inventory Management Analyst in placing inventory purchase orders for multiple categories.  The MA primarily assists the Merchandise team by setting up new items and maintaining items in the NetSuite system, managing the flow of product samples and maintaining the sample storage room, preparing reports and samples for meetings, and responding to the team’s needs as necessary.  This position requires frequent communication with other members of the Girl Scout Merchandise team as well as other GSUSA departments, the distribution center, and vendors. 

    The MA must comprehend the basic merchandising process, be detail oriented, and understand the importance of their responsibilities and the impact it has on the business.

    • Create, update, and maintain all vendor records
    • Enter new items and maintain existing items in NetSuite
    • Create and proof spreadsheet of new items
    • Manage flow of product samples for photography, sales, and production
    • Maintain organization of sample storage room
    • Handle daily communication with vendors regarding product delivery, sample status, packaging details and any other business details as needed
    • Create and maintain binders for the new item product sheets
    • Track purchase order confirmations from vendors
    • Create and manage custom uniform orders
    • Prepare samples and necessary reports and information for various merchandising meetings
    • Proof and scan UPC bar codes and tickets
    • Assign and maintain UPC bar codes listing
    • Perform other duties as assigned


    You Need

    • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook with the ability to rapidly master our internal systems
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize deadlines
    • Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Detail oriented
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external sources
    • Works cooperatively with others.  Displays a positive attitude and a willingness to assist co-workers at all levels.  Adapts and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups
    • Demonstrate initiative; able to think through a problem or situation and respond accordingly.
