    The Revenue Office/Girl Scout Merchandise leads merchandising, licensing, product sales, and other revenue streams, which in turn fund both Girl Scouts of the USA programming and administration and local council revenue. The teams at this division include e-commerce, operations, retail, licensing, and the famous Girl Scout Cookie Program and work closely with all the other communities to bring products to market for our Girl Scouts and to the general public. The team also collaborates closely with external vendors, sponsors, and external agencies. 

    You Will

    The Sr. Director of Product Program Operations will be responsible for leading a team that supports the execution of both the Cookie and Fall Product programs including developing and overseeing the implementation of national strategy, development of standard practices and creation of guidance for business practices.  The team will provide direct support to Council’s Product Sales staff and C-Suite leadership, including training for new staff and overall assessment.  The Sr. Director will lead the Product Program Advisory Team (PPAT) in efforts to standardize processes and identify and propagate Council best practices across the movement and around program execution and will be the GSUSA staff liaison between the PPAT and the Cookie Steering Committee.  The Sr. Director will also serve as the liaison to both the Girl Program and the Volunteer teams to ensure full alignment with on-going work.

    The Sr. Director is responsible for driving and managing operational support for Councils.  He/ She will:   

    • Set the strategy, direction and overall prioritization for the Council support field team providing consulting services for Councils including setting a vision for training and providing direction for an overall cadence of support 
    • Oversee efforts to ensure full documentation for the end-to-end Cookie and Fall Product program execution and drive efforts to improve the cookie supply chain by increasing efficiency and better meeting the needs/ expectations of parents, volunteers and girls 
    • Partner with Councils and vendors to identify best practices and prioritize opportunities that will enhance the product program(s) and quantifiably improve girl/ volunteer satisfaction and participation 
    • Partner closely with the GSUSA Girl Experience team and the GSUSA Volunteer Experience team to expand the programmatic value proposition to drive greater girl participation and adult support 
    • Provide thought leadership and expertise on the overall financial model(s) for the Cookie and Fall Product programs including guidance on rewards and incentives 
    • Provide thought leadership on issues associated with risk/ risk mitigation for both the Cookie and Fall Product programs 
    • Ensure that key team members are available to serve as subject matter experts as needed for topics across the Cookie and Product sales programs 
    • Provide direction and leadership of Product Program Advisory Team interactions/ meetings, including resetting the committee as needed; serving as staff liaison to Cookie Steering Committee and ensuring strategic alignment/ flow between the meetings 
    • Provide direction for Product Program Conference and associated regional meetings 
    • Ensure that Council product sales data is delivered into database (Looker) in a timely way and provide regular reports on all KPI’s at Council and Movement-wide level 
    • Provide context/ support as needed in support of re-negotiations for all Product Sales licensing contracts to maximize benefits for GSUSA and our Councils

    • Excellent “storytelling” skills, ability to craft insight into clear, logical written presentations designed for a senior audience  
    • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills including communicating complex information with clarity to diverse audiences, and preparing and presenting reports and other written communications to GSUSA and council stakeholders 
    • Anticipates needs and is skilled in resolving current issues, and the ability to build long term solutions and roadmaps to meet the needs of the council and internal shareholders  
    • Proven relationship builder based upon trust, respect, effective communication, and achievement of common goals; experience in identifying potential needs and opportunities and in fostering collaboration and support  
    • Experience with coaching and mentoring staff- taking responsibility and driving development of technical and “soft” skills for direct reports 
    • Demonstrates and models an outstanding customer service mindset towards all managers, employees and customers.  Offers leadership to GSUSA in articulating the evolving definition of being “of service” to the customer 
    • Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; comfortable working with multiple sources of information to complete analysis  

    Required Technical Skills

    Office 365 or similar suites 

    Competency in PowerPoint or similar presentation software 

    Competency in Microsoft Excel or similar software 

    You Need

    Minimum Years of Experience:   

    Minimum of eight (8) years related experience 



    Degree or Equivalent Experience: 

    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, social services, or related area required

    Preferred Education and Experience

    MBA strongly preferred


    Minimum 10+ years’ experience with Cookie/ Product Program at a Council highly preferred  

    Prior experience in Strategy/ Analytical role or operations role with budget responsibility and demonstrated impact preferred 

    Travel Requirements

    up to 25%
