    The Revenue Office/Girl Scout Merchandise leads merchandising, licensing, product sales, and other revenue streams, which in turn fund both Girl Scouts of the USA programming and administration and local council revenue. The teams at this division include e-commerce, operations, retail, licensing, and the famous Girl Scout Cookie Program and work closely with all the other communities to bring products to market for our Girl Scouts and to the general public. The team also collaborates closely with external vendors, sponsors, and external agencies.

    Essential Responsibilities

    The Sales Associate for Girl Scout Central at GSUSA National HQ is primarily responsible for excellent customer service to the external and internal customers. The external customer includes but is not limited to council membership for the tristate area, visitors to the national headquarters and internal customers. The incumbent will also assist in restocking and merchandising of the National Headquarters retail store on an as needed basis.

     

    • Provide outstanding customer service.
    • Assist in the operational functions of the store including operating point of sale, daily sales reporting, and general maintenance of the store.
    • Assist in the overall store merchandising execution to create Girl Scout brand awareness and drive sales through thoughtful and effective displays.
    • Be involved in stock control through assisting in regular cycle counts and any annual inventory(s).
    • The Sales Associate will assist in the execution of shop events, activities and promotions to drive additional traffic and sales to the Girl Scout Central.
    • Evidences a basic understanding of customer service concepts and exercises tact and an appropriate sense of urgency when dealing with retail customers and colleagues at GSUSA. Has a good understanding of established processes and procedures in the retail store and customer service areas. This includes OP Suite and POS systems.
    • Fosters innovation by seeing opportunities, not just issues or problems. Focuses on continuous learning and development.

    You Need

    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Appropriate computer skills including basic office suite programs – Word, Excel and Retail Point of Sales Systems experience.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Our stores open daily, which requires early morning and evening flexibility as well as occasional availability for events and overtime as needed. (Store hours subject to change.)
    • Must demonstrate G.I.R.L. Competencies
    • Competency in problem solving

    Degree or Equivalent Experience:

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

     

    Minimum Years of Experience:

    Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in corporate environment

    Candidate will have 1-2 years of retail experience
