You Will

The Revenue Office/Girl Scout Merchandise leads merchandising, licensing, product sales, and other revenue streams, which in turn fund both Girl Scouts of the USA programming and administration and local council revenue. The teams at this division include e-commerce, operations, retail, licensing, and the famous Girl Scout Cookie Program and work closely with all the other communities to bring products to market for our Girl Scouts and to the general public. The team also collaborates closely with external vendors, sponsors, and external agencies.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Manager, National Product Program is responsible for supporting operational product sales strategies and tactics that drive income growth and support participant engagement within their cohort of Girl Scout Councils. This position plays a key role in creating plans of action to train and support their Council product program leads.  The Manager, National Product Program works with their Councils and the Girl Scout Product Sales Advisory Team to identify and prioritize opportunities that will enhance sales, re-enforce necessary controls and improve the operational experience for all product sale participants. Throughout their cohort of Councils, the Manager, National Product Program supports the integration of GSUSA and Cookie Steering Committee Strategies, utilization of operational resources and awareness of emerging best practices. This position supports their Councils through any change management necessitated by changes in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, strategies that support the cookie program, Vendor changes and changes within their Councils. This position partners with their Supervisor to ensure that all Council product sales practices are consistent with and support the organization’s vision, goals, policies and guidelines.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Primary duties of the position

  • Support Council implementation of strategic initiatives as directed by Cookie Steering Committee
  • Collaborates with and supports their cohort of councils and the Girl Scout Product Sales Advisory Team to identify and prioritize strategic and operational opportunities that will enhance sales.
  • Provides onsite and by phone consulting services for their cohort of councils to develop and support plans, forecasts, tactics, change management and operational execution. Regularly measures results and works with Councils to course correct as needed.
  • Works cross functionally to identify, champion and drive integration of business initiatives that will support the Cookie Program. These would include girl experience improvements, marketing/communications initiatives and partnership opportunities.
  • Supports Council training initiatives
  • Collects and analyzes data to support their Councils. Assists their Councils in developing annual sales plans, forecasts, and budgets based on historical selling-patterns and missed opportunity observations.  Assists with reward and inventory projections. Monitors changing business conditions to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Works closely with Supervisor to deliver, integrate and maintain enterprise wide tools and resources including Product Sales Guidelines, Pearl, GSConnect, Looker and Salesforce. Works to educate their cohort of councils on Product Sales Guidelines and policies that protect the Girl Scout Movement.
  • Works with Supervisor to develop a specific area of expertise and process ownership such as forecasting, logistics, budget planning, etc. Leverages knowledge to support other product sales Consultants and Supervisor as needed. 
  • Supports the annual National Product Program Conference including logistics and training plans. Works with their cohort of councils to ensure conference participation, identify potential council presenters, document emerging best practices and coordinate content to ensure a successful conference.
  • Leverages monthly webinars and newsletters to advance product sales objectives and the sharing of information between GSUSA, Councils and Vendors.
  • Supports councils on Digital Cookie Platform functionality and troubleshoots council inquiries with tools and technology established to support Digital Cookie.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

The Individual Contributor or Manager of 1, has significant expertise and may have responsibility for projects or processes.

·        Proven expertise in building and implementing strategies to increase top and bottom line Product Sales

·        Solid analytical and financial skills to develop product sales forecasts, plans and budgets

·        Demonstrated experience developing external vendor relationships and proven strong negotiation skills

·        Proven ability to work independently, navigate difficult problems and make decisions that balance the needs of a customer against the policies of a larger organization.

·        Demonstrated excellent and persuasive written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills

·        Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and cross functional team experience with expertise in motivating individuals to achieve common goals

·        Demonstrated experience developing and overseeing budgets.

·        Experience with product licensing a plus

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (i.e., degrees, certifications)

Degree or Equivalent Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Years of Experience: 

Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in corporate environment

Minimum 5 years of experience in consumer product sales, experience with Girl Scout council sponsored product sales desirable

 

 

 

 

 

Salary Range: $61,900 - $105,000

 

This represents the present low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with a 35 hour per week schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
